We recommend booking 9–12 months ahead for the best cabin selection and early-bird pricing, though last-minute deals are sometimes available. For world cruises or new ship launches, booking 12–18 months ahead is advisable.

Most cruise fares include your cabin, all meals at main restaurants, entertainment, and use of ship facilities. Drinks, specialty dining, shore excursions, and gratuities are typically extra — though luxury lines like Regent and Viking include most or all of these.

Inside cabins are the most affordable with no window. Ocean view cabins have a porthole or window. Balcony cabins give you a private outdoor space. Suites offer the most space with premium amenities and butler service on some lines.
